Character analysis – Slumdog millionaire
Latika is one of the main characters in the movie, Slumdog Millionaire. In the movie, we don’t get to know her that well, and therefore there can be different views if she is a flat character or not.
The reason why she's a flat character is because she basically does what people tells her to, throughout the whole movie. I would guess that it’s because she’s afraid that something bad will happen, if she refuses to.
On the other hand you could say that she’s a round character, because she twice escapes from Maman, the mafia, trying to find Jamal. Doing that, she proves us that she got the courage to follow her own wishes.
After all, she’s a sweet girl, trying to do what’s best for everyone. Sometimes she fails, other times she doesn’t, but most important is that she and Jamal finally can be together in the end.
